So I decided to have a new look for the blog and went ahead to browse for new WordPress themes. I was looking for a more text-driven (given that the posts here contain a lot of text, mostly) and responsive design (given that tablets and smartphones have now become ubiquitous and I, for one, have found their indispensable value in surfing blogs such as this). It took me a lot of time to skim through what was available (read: 20 minutes tops :P).
When I saw the “Independent Publisher” theme by Raam Dev, I knew this was what I was looking for. Of course, I aim to tweak this a bit to have my preferred greyed out color scheme.
In my search, I also encountered the “BlankSlate” theme – a very basic and stripped down theme ideal for building completely from scratch. Something I could possibly use in future projects. Had I not found the “Independent Publisher” I would have gone for this and tweaked it out.
