Of Flash and Quicktime movs

While trying to publish a flash file into a mov format using Flash 8, i encountered the following error message:

—————————

The installed version of QuickTime does not support this type of Macromedia Flash movie.
QuickTime requires Macromedia Flash version 5 or before.

Please select “Version: Flash Player 5” in the Flash tab of the Publish Settings dialog.

i found this solution in google that solved this:

You can find QuickTime version 7.2 here. Removing QuickTime then installing this one should do it.

The explanation being:

There are newer versions of Flash that weren’t licensed to Apple. As such, QuickTime can only support what Macromedia at the time, and now Adobe allows. Additionally, if your version of QuickTime is 7.3.1, QuickTime supports NO version of Adobe’s Flash (though I don’t know if that’s the error message you’d get).

Problem solved.
